Since opening in 2020, Pride Pharmacy has made a real difference for patients and the Trust. We’ve reduced prescription waiting times by over three-quarters, cut medicine waste by more than 80%, and now deliver thousands of prescriptions each month directly to people’s homes. Every penny we save or earn goes straight back into supporting NHS services. For our team, that means knowing our work makes things better not just for individuals, but for the whole healthcare system.
Pride Pharmacy is owned by D-Hive Ltd, a subsidiary of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. Being part of the NHS means we follow the same clinical and governance standards as hospital services, while still being able to work flexibly and adapt quickly. Our approach combines an on-site retail pharmacy, efficient outpatient dispensing, and a growing home-delivery service. It’s a model that keeps services local, puts patient needs first, and reinvests any surplus back into healthcare — proving that NHS-run pharmacies can be both caring and efficient.
